Your tow company's own AI operating system.
Phones, texts, Towbook, motor-club billing, payroll, books, website, and Google Ads, connected into one always-on AI system that runs on a server you own. I build it with you, train your team, and hand you the keys.

Get rid of the middlemen, including me
Most tow companies rent their back office one app at a time: a premium dispatch tier, an accounting subscription, an answering service, a phone app, an ad agency, and now per-minute AI. Each one owns a piece of your data, and none of them talk to each other.
Deadhead Labs is a consulting service, not another subscription. I help you build your own walled garden: one agentic AI system on a server you own, connected to everything you already use. When it's up and running and your team knows the ropes, you can kick me out. Or keep me on as your maintenance and improvement tech. Your call, always.
From renting your tools to owning them
No rip-and-replace. We move you over one piece at a time, while the trucks keep rolling.
Custom integrations
We connect to the software you already run (Towbook, your bank, your phones, your motor-club portals, your ad account) instead of making you switch. Where there's no API, the system works the website like a person would.
A seamless transition
Each rented tool gets replaced or downgraded only once its replacement is proven on your real jobs. Your data comes home to a server and accounts you own, built on open-source tools.
Built with frontier AI
Everything is custom-built with frontier models and Claude Code, around your rates, your crew, and your rules, including private dashboards your team logs into with their phone number, with access set by role.
An on-call technician
I stay on call to monitor, maintain, and keep improving your system, moving more of it onto open-source models you host to cut token costs, for as long as you want me. Billed by the hour.
Talk to your whole company, hands-free
With Claude Code on your phone connected to your system, every tool, account, and app your company runs on is one sentence away. Ask by voice from the truck, and the system works across Towbook, the bank, the books, email, and your portals to get it done. Anything that sends money or messages reads back to you first and waits for your OK.
- “Create a Towbook call for the F-150 at the Kroger on Atlanta Highway.”
- “Send the invoice for this morning's tow.”
- “What was our net profit margin last month?”
- “What's our profit per mile driven this quarter?”
- “Which ad calls yesterday didn't turn into jobs?”
- “What's our truck cost per mile this quarter?”
It won't replace your people. It makes them bigger.
Your dispatcher still runs the board. Your billing person still owns the motor-club money. Your drivers still do the work that actually matters: helping people stuck on the side of the road. What goes away is the typing, the copying between portals, the Monday payroll math, and the guessing about which numbers are real.
That's how a shop grows without hiring: the same people handle more calls, billing is ready to review with every mile already on it, and the owner has real numbers to make decisions with.
$1,345 a month I stopped paying
The system that replaced them costs me roughly $400–$800 a month to run (see Pricing for the line-by-line). The difference, plus the hours back, is the point.
The system didn't just replace these tools and people. It does more than they did, because everything is connected. These figures come from the bank feed and my own records.
| Tool | Before | Now | Saved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing agency | About $500/mo in commission on ad spend | Ads run in-house | $500/mo |
| Monthly accountant | $300/mo | Books built from the bank | $300/mo |
| Towbook | $319/mo premium tier | $109/mo base tier | $210/mo |

The billing portals, pre-filled
Billing motor clubs by hand means copying every job from Towbook into portal after portal: PO numbers, addresses, mileage, charges. The system does that data entry for the major clubs. It matches each dispatch to the Towbook job, calculates the deadhead miles you drove back empty, checks the charges against each club's rules, and fills in the invoice. Your billing person stays in the loop to review, approve, and handle the exceptions.
By my count, that cut about 90% of the mind-numbing time we spent in billing portals at Athena Towing. How motor-club billing works
What your AI operating system runs
Built around the dispatch software, motor clubs, bank, and pay rules you already have. It does the work, and it uses a browser when a portal has no API. Not on Towbook? We build integrations for Omadi, TOPS, Beacon, and other dispatch apps to order. See everything it runs or what we can build.
Phones & Texts
Your crew gets first ring; the AI answers what they miss, quotes from your rates, texts customers, and hands dispatch a clean ticket.
How it worksTowbook & Motor-Club Billing
Billing-portal data entry pre-filled for all the major motor clubs: dispatch matched to Towbook, deadhead miles calculated, a human checks and submits.
How it worksPayroll & Commissions
Every driver's commission calculated each week from your jobs, with your real pay rules, ready to approve.
How it worksBooks, Bank & Reconciliation
Bank accounts connected, transactions auto-categorized, card processor reconciled — books you can trust without QuickBooks.
How it worksWebsite & Google Ads
Ads synced with your dispatch software: every ad call traced to a job, true ROI after costs, and each job's profit sent back to Google, so it can bid on profit instead of phone calls.
How it worksAdvisor Reports
Daily, weekly, and monthly briefs on every mile, dollar, customer, and ad group — like a CFO, COO, and CEO reading your numbers for you.
How it worksLike a CFO, COO, and CEO reading your numbers
Because everything is connected, the system sees every mile, every dollar, every customer, every ad group, and every expense. Every morning, evening, week, and month it tells you what happened and what needs you, like a team of advisors, accountants, and finance officers that never sleeps. It flags when a question needs a real attorney or CPA instead of pretending to be one.
